
Pigneter and Lanthaler win qualification at Latsch
Latsch (PMA) - Italian Patrick Pigneter and Evelin Lanthaler set the fastest times at the qualification of the second Luge World Cup on Natural Track of the International Luge Federation (FIL) at Latsch. On the Italian track the two current World Champion demonstrated their home advantage. They are now in the best position for the decisive final run, as this year the time difference of the qualification will be added to the runtime at the competition run.
Second place in the qualification went to Italian Alex Gruber ahead of team-mate Stefan Federer. Fourth place went to Austrian Thomas Kammerlander. At the first training run, Michael Scheikl crashed and was injured. He misses the race of Latsch.
Second place at the women's qualification went to Greta Pinggera in front of Ekaterina Lavrentyeva (RUS). Overall World Cup leader Tina Unterberger from Austria finished fifth.
