Pigneter/Clara wins doubles event at Moscow

Moscow (PMA) - Fourth doubles event of the season and the Italians Patrick Pigneter and Florian Clara celebrate their fourth victory. They win the doubles competition at the FIL Luge World Cup on Natural Track in Moscow. Second and third place went to Russia and Aleksandr Egorov/Petr Popov and Aleksei Martianov/Ivan Rodin.

Fourth World Cup is hosted at the centre of Moscow. The rebuilt track is situated at Vorobyevy Gory, near the university. Pigneter/Clara had a small advantage of 8 hundredths after the qualification run. They enlarged their lead with a perfect ride at the final competition run. The two Italians won ahead of Egorov/Popov, who finished 29 hundredths behind them. Third place went to young Russian double Martianov/Rodin, who secured their first podium finish on home soil.

Austrian doubles Christoph Regensburger/Dominik Holzknecht and Rupert Brüggler/Tobias Angerer finished fourth and fifth. Sixth place went to Slovenian siblings Petra and Tadej Dragicevic.
