Seoul (RWH) The PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG) confirmed that all competition events will be held in Korea as planned. That was announced in a POCOG press release, published in Seoul. „We highly appreciate the International Olympic Committee’s drive to implement changes”, said POCOG President Cho Yang Ho. „But with regards to its application to the 2018 Winter Games it will be difficult to apply those recommendations to our plans at this stage, given that construction for all competition venues is already in progress. For now it is our wish to have all events staged in PyeongChang, Gangneung and Jeongseon as per our original bid plan accepted by the IOC.” The International Olympic Comittee IOC on Monday adopted the Olympic Agenda 2020. Recommendation 1 now allows the organization of sports or disciplines "outside the host city or, in exceptional cases, outside the host country notably for reasons of geography and sustainability".
