Pre-homologation of the new Olympic track for Beijing 2022

Berchtesgaden (FIL) On October 23, 2020, 16 luge athletes, coaches and track construction experts of the International Luge Federation, FIL, will make their way to Beijing (CHN). 
Together with the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation IBSF, the first international test runs in the three Olympic sports of bobsleigh, luge and skeleton will take place on the new Olympic track in China. The pre-homologation of the new artificially-iced track at the Yanqing Sliding Center is scheduled to take place from October 26 to 30, despite the worldwide coronavirus crisis.

Yanqing is geographically part of Beijing City Council and is located northwest of the Chinese capital. In addition to sledding, alpine skiing is also planned during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Yanqing. Beijing 2022 is scheduled to take place from February 4 to 20, 2022.

The FIL plans to hold the final of the EBERSPÄCHER Luge World Cup Series 2020/21 in Yanqing, China, on the Olympic track for Beijing 2022, from February 16 to 21, 2021. That would be the pre-Olympic test.
