President Fendt and secretary general Romstad represent FIL at SportAccord

Lausanne (RWH) A variety of meetings and the new election of the president are on the agenda of the general assembly of SportAccord, the worldwide umbrella organization of all international sports federations. Meeting place until to the 22nd April is Lausanne in Switzerland. The International Luge Federation (FIL) will be represented by president Josef Fendt from Germany and secretary general Svein Romstad (USA).

In addition to the different meetings of the winter sports federations (AIOWF) and meetings with several organizing committees, the election of the SportAccord president takes centre stage. Candidates are Patrick Baumann from Switzerland and Anna Arzhanova from Russia.

Baumann is secretary general of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Anna Arzhanova is the president of the World Underwater Federation (CMAS). Since May 2015, the Swiss Gian-Franco Kasper is officiating as an interim president of SportAccord.
