The President of the International Luge Federation (FIL) Josef Fendt seized the opportunity of his participation in the World Sport Congress „SportAccord“ in Seoul (Korea) to visit the National Federation of Korea.
On this occasion, Fendt also met President Lee Kyung-Hon and Secretary General Youn-Teak Sung, representing the new management of the Korean Luge Federation.

Afterwards, Fendt travelled to Tokyo in order to meet with representatives of the Japanese Luge Federation.
Both meetings focussed on the development of the sport of luge in Asia. Korean as well as Japanese athletes participate in international FIL competitions on a regular basis.

The FIL President also handed over the invitations to the 54th Congress of the FIL to the representatives of both federations. The Congress will be held in Berchtesgaden on June 29/30, 2006.
