Lindau (RWH) He wrote the press services, took care of the statistics, led press conferences and organised numerous media seminars. But now Wolfgang Harder, Press Spokesman of the International Luge Federation (FIL) has not extended his contract at his own request. "After 24 years with the FIL this decision was not easy for me. But I‘m of the opinion that this is happening at the right time", explained Wolfgang Harder. "I’m fit, full of energy and looking forward to new challenges.”
From the 1996-1997 winter as Viessmann Luge World Cup press coordinator, later on press spokesman, Harder, who has been living in Lindau on Lake Constance since 2015, accompanied the World Federation at a total of six Olympic Winter Games, 19 FIL Luge World Championships and exactly 222 World Cup events. "I had the opportunity to meet interesting personalities, take attractive trips and gain valuable experience that went beyond the pure sports events. I’m incredibly grateful to the FIL for this."
The departing press spokesman's special thanks go to the athletes of the FIL, the trainers, coaches and medical staff from all over the world as well as to the FIL officials, the staff in the FIL office and last but not least to the colleagues from all over the world.
