Berchtesgaden (pps) The lugers once again can win two lucrative jackpots in the Krombacher Challenge Cup and the Viessmann World Cup in the Olympic winter. Thanks to the initiative of the marketing partner (KirchSport/formerly CWL) of the International Luge Federation, FIL, the Krombacher jackpot of US$10,000 and the Krombacher Super-jackpot for US$50,000 are up for grabs. If several athletes meet the requirements, the money will be distributed among the athletes.
The requirements for the Krombacher jackpot are as follows: two victories in the four events of the Krombacher Challenge Cup, the victory in the Super Cup at Koenigssee (December 28, 2001) and the overall victory of the Three Track Tour in mid-December at Koenigssee, Igls and Oberhof. For the determination of the winner the World Cup points of those three races will be added up.
The demands for winning the Krombacher Super-jackpot are as follows: winning the Krombacher-jackpot and setting four track records in the seven Viessmann World Cup events including the four Challenge Cup races, or the Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. Only track records are considered which are valid after the race weekend (i.e. World Cup and Challenge Cup).
Last winter, Germany?s World champion Sylke Otto won the small jackpot and missed the big jackpot only narrowly.
