Calgary (pps) Germany’s women continue to dominate the Viessmann Luge World Cup.
Prior to the third event two German top-four sweeps have been registered in the previous
two competitions. And the winning streak with now 66 successive World Cup victories does
not seem to be in jeopardy. However, the pressure to succeed among Germany’s women is
great. Anke Wischnewski, having achieved two third places and currently holding second
position with a 155 points in the overall ranking behind Silke Kraushaar-Pielach (200) explained: “In every race, we are just happy not to be the worst of the German team.”
Canada’s Regan Lauscher, who gained ninth place at her first race in Park City, hopes to
post a fast time on her home-track in Calgary.
