Oberhof (pps) “It is better that we haven’t won”, said Germany’s World Champion at doubles Torsten Wustlich after the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Oberhof. With a victory at their comeback, the expectations for the next races could be too high, Wustlich expects. At sixth race of the season, Andre Florschütz/Torsten Wustlich finished third, Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt (GER) celebrated their first victory in Viessmann Luge World Cup, followed by Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (GER).
Tobias Wendl (GER, Vice World Champion 2008)
“This is great! We weren’t nervous at all before the second run. I only wanted a better start as in first run. The time in first run was good, but we had some technical mistakes.”
Patric Leitner (GER, Olympic Champion 2002, World Champions 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2007)
“We could have won this race, but we had too much little mistakes. In Cesana we had the wrong tyres. Now we are prepared for the World Championships.“
Torsten Wustlich (GER, Olympic Silver Medalist 2006, World Champion 2001, 2005 und 2008):
„That was perfect. Without the two mistakes in first run we could have won, but maybe it is better like that. The expectations would have been too high with a victory at the comeback.”
