Lillehammer (pps) A tight victory celebrated Germany’s women at Viessmann Luge World Cup in Lillehammer. After the race Tatjana Hüfner and Natalie Geisenberger were happy about their double and Erin Hamlin from USA about her first World Cup medal.
Tatjana Hüfner (GER, Olympic Bronze medallist 2006, World Champion 2007 and 2008):
“I had a big mistake in first run so that I am very glad that I could manage a good second run that was enough for the victory.”
Natalie Geisenberger (GER, Vice World Champion 2008 and 2009, European Champion 2008) “That was a close thing! We know that Erin is very good so that her good times are no surprise. Tatjana and me only wanted to attack in second run and we are happy that it worked.”
Erin Hamlin (USA, World Champion 2009):
“I was a bit nervous, even if my training in Lillehammer was good. After leading in first run I was of course disappointed at first but it is my first medal in World Cup, so I am also happy about third rank now.”
