Even though two out of three decisions have been made already and only the double seater´s event still sees three contenders for the Overall World Cup, Olang/Valdaora can be pleased to host 14 nations in the RED BULL World Cup final. A record field has found its way to Olang after the three weeks break in the World Cup to compete with the stars of the season, Anton Blasbichler and Rentae Gietl (both ITA). Both can take it a bit easier in their races, because they already have been determined as the winners of the Overall World Cup.

A completely different picture can be seen in the double´s event. Whereas Reinhard Beer and Herbert Kögl (AUT) seemed to be the dominatng couple in the beginning of the winter, they became tough competition from Poland and Russia during the season. Beer/Kögl are still in the lead, but only 45 respectively 49 points behind Poland and Russia are waiting to take their chances. The worst season result won´t be taken into calculation, so there is also some maths necessary to make out the winner. So far Austria and Poland have 55 points as their worst results, Russia has 46 points to lose.
In a long year tradition in Olang/Valdaora, the races will be held as night events.
