Revenge successful: German team wins relay

Oberhof (FIL/11. Feb.2024) At the EBERSPAECHER Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW, the German team took revenge for the surprising defeat a week ago in Altenberg. Merle Fräbel, Hannes Orlamünder/Paul Gubitz, Max Langenhan and Jessica Degenhardt/Cheyenne Rosenthal celebrated their third victory of the season in 3:12.942 minutes.

Latvia (Elina Vitola, Martins Bots/Roberts Plume, Kristers Aparjods and Anda Upite/Kitija Bogdanova) followed only 0.150 seconds behind in third place ahead of Austria (Madeleine Egle, David Gleirscher, Thomas Steu/Wolfgang Kindl, Selina Egle/Lara Kipp; 0.288 seconds behind). "We are satisfied with third place", said David Gleirscher, who lost some time after the fastest times of Egle and Steu/Kindl. "I seem to have misjudged the material", he apologized.

Italy (Nina Zöggeler, Ivan Nagler/Fabian Malleier, Dominik Fischnaller, Andrea Vötter/Marion Oberhofer) were also relatively close, 0.642 seconds behind the winners, Germany. They were followed by the US team (1.054 seconds behind) and Romania (3.840), who surprisingly made it onto the podium in third place a week ago.
