Riga (pps) For the first time Latvia’s capital Riga will be the venue of a Congress of the International Luge Federation, FIL. Items on the agenda at the 60th edition of the annual FIL Congress on June 15-16, 2012 are reports of FIL President Josef Fendt and Secretary General Svein Romstad as well as motions for changes of the International Luge Regulations (IRO). The chairman of the FIL Sports Commission Natural Track will be elected in Riga as the previous officeholder, Oliver Rowold of Germany, has resigned from his office. Additionally, a successor to the late Christos Chatziathanasiou will be elected as a substitute member of the Control Commission. Furthermore various FIL Championships will be awarded. Koenigssee and Sochi are the two candidates to host the 46th FIL Luge World Championships in 2016.
