Russia’s Team dominates Nation’s Cup in Calgary

Calgary (RWH) The Nation’s Cup in Calgary (CAN) was dominated by the Russian Team. At the qualifying races for the Viessmann Luge World Cup on Friday and Saturday (December 7, 8) the Russians celebrated three victories thanks to Ekaterina Baturina, Maksim Aravin and Vsevolod Kashkin-Konstantin Korshunov in doubles.

In the men’s event, Maksim Aravin finished in first ahead of Austria’s Jonas Müller and Mateusz Pawel Sochowicz from Poland. Ekaterina Baturina pushed her team-mate Viktoriia Demchenko and Canada’s Carolyn Maxwell into second and third place. Vsevolod Kashkin/Konstantin Korshunov, who have been members of the winning squad of Russia in the team-relay-event last week in Whistler, secured the top spot ahead of Romania’s Vasile Gitlan/Flavius Craciun and Jinyong Park/ Doung Kyu Kang from Korea.
