Altenberg (pps) Russia will be heading to the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, as the winner of the final event in the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW. The team of the Olympic host with Tatiana Ivanova, Albert Demchenko and the doubles Vladislav Yuzhakov-Vladimir Makhnutin won the sixth Team Relay event in Altenberg, Germany. Canada’s squad with Alex Gough, Sam Edney and Tristan Walker-Justin Snith claimed the second place ahead of the German team with World Champions Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch and Tobias Wendl-Tobias Arlt. Germany claimed the overall title in the Team Relay World Cup.
Behind Germany (509 points), the quartet from Canada finished in second position with 400 points to their credit. The U.S. team, with a sixth place result in Altenberg, claimed the third place (395 points) on the overall rankings.
