Natalia Gart pays first courtesy call to FIL President Josef Fendt
Berchtesgaden (pps) Natalia Gart, new President of Russia’s Luge Federation, paid her inaugural visit to Josef Fendt, President of the International Luge Federation, FIL. Just a week after her election, succeeding her late husband Leonid who died at the end of June, she visited the FIL headquarters in Berchtesgaden accompanied by Dr. Alexander Shakhnazarov (Executive Board Member of Russia’s Luge Federation).
During the discussions a continuous cooperation was agreed upon, particularly with the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, in mind. The main focus will be the training of the judges. According to Natalia Gart, the preparations for the two World Cup events on natural track, including the final in Sochi as well as the preparations for the Junior European Championships on Natural Track in Novouralsk are well on track. FIL President Josef Fendt assured the new president of all his support and assistance whenever needed.
