Russian team secure second win of the season in Winterberg

Winterberg (RWH) The European Champions Russia have celebrated their second win of the season in the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW. The squad, made up of Tatyana Ivanova, Semen Pavlichenko and Aleksandr Denisev/Vladislav Antonov, won the event in Winterberg after losing their World Championship title last week. They finished ahead of the Italian team of Sandra Robatscher, Dominik Fischnaller and the doubles Emanuel Rieder/Simon Kainzwaldner. Third place went to Latvia thanks to Eliza Cauce, Kristers Aparjods and the doubles Oskars Gudramovics/Peteris Kalnins

After five events, the overall standings are led by the ex-European Champions Italy (395). Second place is held by Team Russia (361) ahead of Latvia (320). The defending title holders Germany were unable to enter a team and are currently fourth in the overall standings with 315 points.

After Winterberg, the final races in the Viessmann World Cup are due to be held in Königssee (29 February / 1 March 2020). The final event in the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW will also take place there, too.
