Sandra Robatscher, Eißler and Orlamünder/Gubitz Winner of Nationscup

Nationencup Königssee 2020

Königssee (RWH) Sandra Robatscher from Italy, Chris Eißler and Hannes Orlamünder-Paul Gubitz (GER) are the winner of the Nations Cup, the qualifying races for the Viessmann Luge World Cup on Saturday and Sunday (February 29, March 1, 2020) in Königssee. Hannes Orlamünder-Paul Gubitz are additional starter of Team Germany and not allowed to compete in the Viessmann World Cup. 

A top-class men’s competition was won by Chris Eißler followed by Tucker West (USA) and Austria’s Nico Gleirscher. Places four to six went to former World Champion Wolfgang Kindl (AUT), Felix Loch (GER), two times Olympic Champion, and Jonas Müller (AUT), current silver Medallist of the 2020 World Championships. 

Sandra Robatscher relegated Junior World Champion Jessica Degenhardt and Cheyenne Rosenthal (both GER) to second and third place. Jessica Degenhardt, who won Silber in women’s race and Gold in doubles with Vanessa Schneider at the Youth Olympic (YOG), celebrates in Königssee her debut in Viessmann World Cup. Behind Orlamünder-Gubitz Russia’s Vladislav Yuzhakov/Iurii Prokhorov finished on second place, third place went to Chris Mazdzer/Jayson Terdiman (USA).
