Sigulda hosts 20th Viessmann Luge World Cup
Sigulda (pps) Similar to Altenberg, Sigulda is also celebrating an anniversary: the artificially-iced track in Latvia will host its 20th Viessmann Luge World Cup event. The first World Cup was staged in the 1989-1990 season. Last year, Sigulda took a “pause” as World Cup venue since it staged European Championships.
The luge week-end will take off with the season’s final in the doubles‘ on Saturday, February 19 (at 09:45 hrs local time/08:45 hrs CET), followed by the decision in the men’s singles at 12:15 hrs (11:15 hrs CET). The women’s singles start at 10:00 hrs local time (09:00 hrs CET) on Sunday. The World Cup will then conclude with the season’s final in the Team Relay Event at 13:00 hrs local time (12:00 hrs CET).
