Cesana Pariol (pps) Germany’s women lugers celebrated their 65th victory at the season’s opener in Viessmann World Cup at Cesana Pariol. Silke Kraushaar-Pielach, the Olympic Champion from Nagano 1998, realized her 29th World Cup victory in a total time of one minute 36,444 seconds.
Second place went to Anke Wischnewski (+ 0,021 seconds) her Team-mates Tatjana Hüfner (0,147), Bronze Medallist at the Turin games, and Sylke Otto. Two-time Olympic Champion (2002 and 2006) Otto made a big mistake in the first run, but finished with the best time in the second run on 4th place.
Like Otto Courtney Zablocki from usa made a mistake in the first run. But the third best time in the second run moved her up from 21st place to 13th place in the final results. Ashley Hayden finished even one place better. Canada’s Alex Gough, 7th after first run, crashed in the second one.
