Innsbruck-Igls (pps) The season’s opener of the Viessmann Luge World Cup at Innsbruck-Igls (AUT) this weekend will take place without Germany’s World Champion Felix Loch. Due to an injury at the shoulder the youngest World Champion in the history of the International Luge Federation (FIL) will miss the first race of the pre-Olympic winter. The injury happened two weeks ago in a crash during the international training session at the Whistler Sliding Center, the upcoming Olympic track for the Winter Games 2010 at Vancouver (CAN).
Felix Loch will miss the second race in Viessmann Luge World Cup at Sigulda (Latvia) as well. His first race in the new season is planned to take place at Winterberg on December 13th and 14th.
