Calgary (pps) Thanks to the 5th victory of the season Italy’s European Champion Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber won for the second time after 2004/2005 the overall title of Viessmann Luge World Cup. Oberstolz/Gruber won at Calgary in a total time of one minute 28.476 4 followed by Peter Penz/Georg Fischler (0.229 seconds back). The Austrians celebrated their best result ever in Viessmann World Cup. Third place went to World Champions Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder (0.258 back) from Italy.
In the overall standings Oberstolz/Gruber collected 680 points and can’t be caught be anyone else. In second position are Germany’s Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (544), who finished 4th at Calgary. Third place goes to Linger/Linger (520).
Christian Niccum/Daniel Joye (0.480 back) from USA reached 8th place followed by their team-mates Mark Grimmette/Brian Martin (0.536 back). Canada’s Chris Moffat/Mike Moffat finished on 12th place (0.795 seconds back).
