Altenberg (pps) Austria`s Markus Kleinheinz celebrated his second victory at the Viessmann Luge World Cup. At the season`s opener in Altenberg (GER) he repeated his success two years ago. Kleinheinz won in a total time of one minute 50,604 seconds followed by Russia`s Albert Demtschenko (1:50,827) and Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler (1:51,005) from Italy. Tony Benshoof, in the lead after the frist run, finished 4th (1:51,036), but in front of Georg Hackl (1:51,071) and World Champion David Möller (1:51,169), both from Germany.
Markus Kleinheinz (AUT / Overall World Cup Champion 2002/2003): „Our team is allways good on this track. I`m very satisfied, but I know, there will be races without such a success in this winter .” Albert Demtschenko (RUS / Silver Medalist at the Europeans 1994) „I`m very happy, because there are not so many races with such a success for me. Maybe, the track was very good, maybe my concentration.” Armin Zöggeler (ITA / Olympic champion 2002) „In the Suzuki Challenge Cup I had a very bad day. Today I`m satisfied with the result, but not with the driving. It is nice, to have one Austrian, one Russian and one Italian on the top, but no Germans.”
