Calgary (pps) Canada’s national luge team performed a spectacular show in downtown Calgary in order to raise awareness for their sport. Sliding down two trainer ramps placed on Stephen Avenue Mall, Canada’s top athletes, generously supported by its sponsor Carbon, attracted a crowd of curious onlookers.
“It was great to see such a large turnout for this event. I think it generated a lot of interest and I’m hoping this momentum will continue to grow as we prepare for our World Cup season this year and look towards 2010”, said two-time Olympian Regan Lauscher.
In 2010, Vancouver will be the venue of the XXI. Olympic Winter Games. In the upcoming season, the second of eight Viessmann Luge World Cups will be held at the Calgary Olympic luge track.
