Radebeul (FIL) Silke Kraushaar-Pielach has managed a smooth transition from her active career as an athlete to becoming an official. At the 54th general assembly of the bobsleigh and sled federation for Germany (BSD), the 1998 Olympic champion and 2004 World Champion was elected as sport manager for luge. Kraushaar-Pielach, who comes from Thuringia, Germany, ended her career as a luge athlete this past season.
Andreas Trautvetter was unanimously confirmed in his office as BSD President. In Radebeul near Dresden, all 68 delegates of the regional associations voted for the former Thuringian minister. Rainer M. Jacobus, President of the luge, bobsleigh and skeleton federation of Saxony was elected as new Vice-President.
