Riga (pps) About six months after his serious car accident Juris Sics is back on his sled again. The 28-year-old Latvian luger, who suffered a broken hip and a broken pelvis as well as a fractured collarbone in an accident on May 18, has entered for the International Training Week (beginning November 14) in Altenberg together with his younger brother Andris. In 2010 the two brothers claimed the silver medal at the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. At the 2011 World Championships in Cesana, Italy, Sics-Sics won bronze in the doubles’. Additionally, both brothers were part of Latvia’s national squad that claimed the 2008 and 2010 European title in the Team Relay Event. At the 2008 Worlds in Oberhof and the 2009 Worlds in Lake Placid Sics-Sics earned the bronze medal in the Team Relay Event with Latvia’s national squad.
