Oslo (RWH) The International Luge Federation’s (FIL) natural track calendar for the 2018/2019 winter season includes six World Cup races and the season highlight, the 22nd World Championships in Latzfons, South Tyrol. These decisions were approved by the FIL’s Executive Board at its meeting in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, as confirmed by the Executive Director Christoph Schweiger.

The Italian resort of Latzfons will host the highlight of the natural track season, the 22nd FIL World Championships, on the first weekend in February 2019. The 2018/2019 season will kick off in mid-December 2018 with the classic race in Kühtai (AUT). The season will then continue the following year with races in St. Sebastian (AUT), Latsch (ITA) and Deutschnofen (ITA). The World Championships will be followed by events in Vatra Dornei (ROU) and Umhausen (AUT).

The Tyrol-based resort will also be hosting the Junior European Championships on the last weekend in February. Junior athletes will also compete in four World Cup races before the Championships.
