Slowenien

Berchtesgaden (RWH)  The Slovenian national federation has high hopes that its athlete Tilen Sirse will secure a place at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, Korea, with the support of a mentoring scheme run by the International Luge Federation (FIL). President of the Slovenian Luge Federation Milan Sirse outlined this objective to FIL President Josef Fendt when they met for talks in Berchtesgaden. 25-year-old luger Sirse, who finished 46th in the Viessmann World Cup standings last season, will train with the Italian national team this winter, and will also receive support from the FIL mentoring scheme.

Slovenia is set to host the GRM Group Luge World Cup on Natural Track this coming winter, when the international elite take to the track in Železniki from 20 to 22 January 2017.
