Sochi (pps) The 2014 Sochi Organising Committee (RUS) has revealed the pictograms chosen for the sports and disciplines of the Winter Games. With one and a half year until the Opening Ceremony on 7 February 2014, the stylised images have now been presented to the public. They will guide visitors at the Games to the various facilities and events, and will also be printed on tickets, programmes and licensed merchandise. The symbols were inspired by those used at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games and complement the Sochi 2014 ‘Patchwork Quilt’, 16 designs representing the most famous traditional Russian arts and crafts. 22 pictograms were created for the 15 disciplines represented at Sochi.
