Special Honour for Svein Romstad

Ljubljana (RWH) Special Honour for Svein Romstad: At the 67th congress of the International Luge Federation (FIL) in Ljubljana (SLO) the former Secretary General was awarded with the Medal of Honour in Gold with Diamonds. Accompanied by standing ovations of the delegates from 34 national federations, FIL President Josef Fendt (GER) presented the medal.

Romstad was elected Secretary General in 1994. In close cooperation with Fendt they developed the FIL into a modern Federation. Last Year at the congress in Bratislava, Romstad stepped down on his own demand. Back then he was appointed an Honorary Member of the FIL. Latvia’s Einars Fogelis was elected as Romstad’s successor.
