FIL Presidium meets Honorary Member Falz-Fein
Triesenberg (pps) On the occasion of a three-day strategy meeting in Triesenberg/Liechtenstein, the Executive Board of the International Luge Federation, FIL, met with its Honorary Member, Baron Eduard von Falz-Fein. The aristocrat, entrepreneur and journalist, who celebrated his 99th birthday on September 14, still enjoys good health; he made inquiries as to the current developments within the FIL and narrated anecdotes from the FIL’s founding days. In recognition of his efforts for the preservation of Russia’s cultural heritage he was awarded the Pushkin Medal four years ago.
During the meeting, the FIL Executive Board with Josef Fendt, Secretary General Svein Romstad, Vice President Harald Steyrer and Executive Director Christoph Schweiger discussed, among other issues, the implementation of the strategy plan that was approved at the 59th FIL Congress, the FIL Development Program, the development in the field of track construction as well as the long-term development of natural track luge.
