Reichenau/Austria (pps) Christoph Schweiger of Austria will succeed Hartmut Kardaetz as Executive Director of the International Luge Federation, FIL. Schweiger, currently Secretary General within Austria’s Luge Federation, was officially introduced to the FIL Executive Board on the occasion of the FIL Spring Meeting at Reichenau, Austria.
The 45-year old from Tyrol, for quite some years now active within the FIL youth working group and lately also head of the Organizing Committee for the Viessmann Luge World Cup on the Olympic track in Innsbruck-Igls, will become acquainted with his new range of duty working together with Executive Director Hartmut Kardaetz beginning July 1.
Kardaetz, formerly Secretary General within the Bobsleigh and Sled Sports Federation of the former GDR, has been acting as FIL Executive Director since the opening of the FIL Office in Berchtesgaden in 1993.
