Calgary (pps) The season’s opener in Suzuki Challenge Cup in Calgary (CAN) was won by Silke Kraushaar-Pielach (GER), Armin Zöggeler (ITA) and Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (GER). All last year winner of the Viessmann Luge overall World Cup won their finals.
Silke Kraushaar-Pielach took the victory in the final in a time of 46,908 seconds and bat her team-mate Anke Wischnewski (46,9089: Third place went to Austria’s Veronika Halder, who beat her team-mate Nina Reithmayer in the small final.
Italy’s two-time Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler won the finale (44,887) vs. Jan Eichhorn (45,119) from Germany. Third place went to Germany’s World Champion David Möller, who bat Austria’s Daniel Pfister in the small final.
In doubles Germany’s World Champions Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (43,859) won the finale vs. Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber (44,068). Third place went to Germany’s Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt. They bat Mark Grimmette/Brian Martin in the small final.
