Calgary (pps) Germany’s Tatjana Hüfner, Albert Demtschenko from Russia and the two Italians Christian Oberstolz and Patrick Gruber were victories at the third and last Stop of the SUZUKI Challenge Cup at Calgary (CAN). Hüfner even won the overall standings of the prize money race. In men’s race Italy’s Two-time Olympic Champion Armin Zöggeler and his team-mates, the reigning World Champions Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder, took the victories in the overall standing back home.
Tatjana Hüfner, two-time World Champion 2007 and 2008, won the finale against her team-mate Natalie Geisenberger. It was Hüfner’s third victory in the third race of SUZUKI Challenge Cup of the season and her first success in the overall standings. In the small finale Austria’s Veronika Halder bat her team-mate Nina Reithmayer.
In the men’s finale Albert Demtschenko defeated the reigning World Champion Felix Loch from Germany. Third place for Armin Zöggeler, who bat Austria’s Daniel Pfister, Bronze medalist of the
Worlds at Lake Placid, was good enough to win the overalls standings. In double’s race Christian Oberstolz/Patrick Gruber defeated the reigning World Champions and team-mates Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder, who won tor the first time ver the overall standings. Third place at Calgary went to Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch (GER), who bat in the small finale their team-mates Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt.
