Chur (RWH) Swiss luger Gregory Carigiet has retired. The 27-year-old made the announcement in a press release from his home town of Chur, explaining that he would need more time and more money to continue in the sport.

Carigiet was placed twelfth at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and made it onto the podium for the first and only time in his career with a third in the Viessmann World Cup in Königssee. He came ninth in the overall rankings in the 2013/2014 season.
