Park City (pps) Germany’s Sylke Otto wrote at the 38th World Championships in Park Cit a small chapter in luge history. After winning her fourth title the Olympic Champion tied with Margit Schumann, who was the first winning four titles (1973, 1974, 1975 and 1977). Sylke Otto captured her fourth title after 2000, 2001 and 2003 in a total time of one minute 28,056 seconds. Silver went to Barbara Niedernhuber (1:28,284) and bronze to (1:28,366). It was fort he sixth time in a row that all medals went to Germany. Fourth place conquered Ashley Hayden (1:28,499) from USA.
Defending Champion Silke Kraushaar, on second place after the first run, was disqualified due to illegal fixing of the runners.
