Lillehammer (RWH) The probably oldest track record in Luge belongs to the past. By winning the Nation’s cup in Lillehammer (NOR) Russia’s Tatiana Ivanova improved the 20 year old record of Gabi Kohlisch of Germany (47,883 seconds). At the 1994 Olympic track Tatiana Ivanova, two-time European Champion, clocked a time of 47.733 seconds. Second and third place in the qualification race for the Viessmann Luge World Cup this weekend went to Katja Katnikova of Russia and Olympic bronze medalist Erin Hamlin of the USA. Winner of men’s race was Austria’s Armin Frauscher followed by Riks Kristens Rozitis and Evgeniy Voskresenskiy of Russia. In doubles race Russia’s Andrey Bogdanov-Andrey Medvedev relegated Thomas Steu-Lorenz Koller and Florian Gruber-Simon Kainzwaldner of Italy to second and third.
