Sigulda (RWH) Four gold medals and one silver make Germany’s Tatjana Hüfner the most successful competitor ever in the FIL World Championships. Her compatriot Sylke Otto also won the World Championships four times, but can only add a bronze medal to that, while Margit Schumann earned four FIL World Championship titles for the former GDR, but no further medals. Tatjana Hüfner could well improve on her score at the 45th FIL World Championships in the Latvian town of Sigulda being held February 14-15, 2015. The 2010 Olympic Champion, who also won Olympic silver in 2014 and bronze in 2006, has collected a medal in the women’s singles at each World Championship since 2007. Defending champion Natalie Geisenberger currently has a total of one gold and four silver medals from the FIL World Championships, placing the 2014 Olympic Champion 11th in the career medals list.
