Tatjana Hüfner Role Model for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games at Lausanne

Lausanne (RWH) Olympic gold medallist Tatjana Hüfner of Germany has been named among the first 13 athlete role models for next year's Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne. The 13 competitors were chosen to perform the role at the event, which includes supporting, mentoring and offering advice to the 1,800 athletes who are due to compete, by their respective International Federations.

The list includes a host of world and Olympic medallists in sports which will feature on the Lausanne 2020 programme. Hüfner claimed the women's singles luge title at Vancouver 2010, won silver at the 2014 Sochi Games and bronze 2006 in Turin. She is a six-time gold medallist at the World Championships of the FIL. Second ARM is Gregory Carigiet from host Swiss.

The ARMs will engage and share their experiences with the athletes in the Youth Olympic Village, at training and competition venues, and during a series of educational activities and workshops. These activities will focus on a range of areas, including Olympic Solidarity, skills development, career management, injury prevention and integrity. The competitions in Luge will take place at the famous natural sliding track Olympia Bobrun St. Moritz-Celerina.
