Tatyana Ivanova, David Gleirscher and Steu/Koller win Nations Cup

Königssee (RWH) Russia’s Tatyana Ivanova, David Gleirscher from Austria, und his teammates Thomas Steu/Lorenz Koller have won the Nations Cup in Königssee.
In the qualification race for the Viessmann Luge World Cup this Thursday and Friday (5 and 6 January 2017) Tatyana Ivanova, bronze medallist at the 2016 World Championships, relegated Latvia’s Eliza Cauze, 2016 silver medallist at the European Championships, and Miriam Kastlunger, Austria’s Youth Olympic Champion in 2012, to second and third places respectively. Aileen Frisch competed for Korea for the first time, taking 10th place to qualify for the Viessmann World Cup.
David Gleirscher won ahead of Toni Gräfe (GER) and his teammate Jonas Müller. As an additional starter, Gräfe, 2014 Junior World Campion and 2012 bronze medallist at the Youth Olympic Games, is not entitled to compete in the men’s race at the Viessmann Luge World Cup on Friday.
In the doubles race, Steu/Koller won ahead of Ludwig Rieder/Patrick Rastner (ITA) and Lukas Broz/Antonin Broz (CZE) in second and third places respectively.
