Team Canada secures victory to round off the season

Winterberg (RWH) The winter 2015/2016 luge season has drawn to a close with a win for the Canadian team in the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW. The Canadian quartet of Arianne Jones, Mitchel Malyk and Tristan Walker/Justin Snith took the second team victory of their career at the season finale in Winterberg. The Canadians’ first win came in Innsbruck five years ago.
Second place went to the Russian team comprising Tatiana Ivanova, Stepan Fedorov and Alexandr Denisyev/Vladislav Antonov. The Austrian team of Miriam Kastlunger, Wolfgang Kindl and Thomas Steu/Lorenz Koller finished third. The German delegation, six-time World Champions and 2014 Olympic Champions, had to settle for fourth place with the line-up of Tatjana Hüfner, Ralf Palik and Toni Eggert/Sascha Benecken.
Germany still managed to win the Joska trophy as overall World Cup winners on 491 points. Second place went to the Russian team (385). The USA finished third on 375 points.
