Calgary (pps) Germany won the second race of the Team Competion in the Viessmann Luge World Cup in Calgary (Canada). Jan Eichhorn, Silke Kraushaar and Patric Leitner/Alexander Resch finished after two minutes 16,645 seconds. Second place went to Austria (Veronika Halder, Markus Kleinheinz and Andreas Linger/Wolfgang Linger - two minutes 16,913 seconds) followed by Italy (Armin Zöggeler, Anastasia Oberstolz-Antonova and Gerhard Plankensteiner/Oswald Haselrieder - two minutes 17,035 seconds). Canada (Regan Lauscher, Jeff Christie, Grant Albrecht/Eric Pothier with two minutes 17,603 seconds) finished third.
In the Overall World Cup, Germany is in the lead with 200 points, followed by Austria and Italy (both 155), and Canada (115).
Austria´s Veronika Halder set a new track record with 47,430 seconds. This year the starting point for the women`s race was put a little further up on the track.
