Sigulda (RWH): An extra race has been added to the schedule at the Viessmann World Cup event in the Latvian town of Sigulda (January 14-15, 2017). The Whistler (CAN) round of the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW was cancelled due to the delayed delivery of the sleds and has now been rescheduled to take place on the artificial track in the Baltic. The move was announced by Maria Luise Rainer of Italy, Sports Director at the International Luge Federation (FIL).

Just two weeks before the highlight of the season, the 47th FIL World Championships in Innsbruck (January 26-29, 2017), Sigulda will see athletes battling it out in all seven World Championship disciplines with both the Viessmann World Cup (women’s, men’s, doubles, and team relay) and the BMW Sprint World Cup (women’s, men’s, and doubles).
