Team Relay final cancelled. Germany wins overall ranking

Overall Team relay 2021

St. Moritz (FIL) The final of the EBERSPÄCHER Team Relay World Cup presented by BMW in Olympic Bob Run in St. Moritz-Celerina has been cancelled. Due to heavy snowfall, the Team Relay had to be cancelled after the first team.

For Team USA, which had opened the Team Relay competition, the start gate opened for the double Mazdzer/Terdiman during second slider Tucker West had not yet touched the pad at the end of track.

FIL Sport Director Maria-Luise Rainer explained the cancellation: "We had very heavy snowfall today. The Team Relay is another story in terms of safety and a false triggering of the start gate due to the snowfall is a safety risk we don't want to take."

"It's a pity that the Team Relay final had to be cancelled, it would have been a great ending of this season," said FIL President Einars Fogelis.
So it remained that Germany won this event with 415 points ahead of Russia (385) and Latvia (330). Team Relay World Champion Austria followed in fourth place with 325 points.
