Park City (pps) Germany’s Sylke Otto, US-American Tony Benshoof and Austria’s World champions Andreas Linger-Wolfgang Linger travel to Park City as the leaders in the Krombacher Challenge Cup after the opening event at Altenberg, Germany. At Altenberg, Tony Benshoof surprisingly defeated Austria’s World Cup title holder Markus Kleinheinz as well as Italy’s Olympic and World champion Armin Zoeggeler.

Title holder Sylke Otto won the women’s event ahead of teammate Anke Wischnewski and Latvia’s Anna Orlova. Linger-Linger (42,544sec) defeated the two Italian doubles, Gerhard Plankensteiner-Oswald Haselrieder (42,602) and Christian Oberstolz-Patrick Gruber (42,626).
