The Executive Board of the FIL

Bratislava (RWH) Once more Josef Fendt was elected in office as the President of the International Luge Federation (FIL). Fendt (70), who hails from Berchtesgaden in Germany, was the only candidate standing for the post when the international sports association met for its 66th Congress in Bratislava (SVK) on June 16, 2018.
The Congress elected Latvia’s Einars Fogelis as successor of retiring Secretary General Svein Romstad. Record winning World Champion Armin Zöggeler (ITA) became Vice President for Technical Matters. The two-time Olympic Champion won against Canada’s Walter Corey by 21 to 12 votes.
In a crucial vote for the position of Vice President Natural track office holder Peter Knauseder (AUT) prevailed against Natalia Gart, President of the National Federation of Russia. New member of the Executive board is Dwight Bell, former president of the US Federation.
