A cold spell, sometimes with double-digit minus degrees, gave the starting signal for the work. The local organizing committee has seized the opportunity and put the snow cannons and water hoses in position. For three days the track on the outskirts of the city was snowed in and iced over. The work was led by Manfred Markt (AUT). The weather forecasts for the turn of the year are promising, with freezing temperatures every day, exept on December 27th. Back in 2019, at the last World Cup in Vatra Dornei, start had to be moved down due to a damaged spot on the track. In January 2022 everything is looking very good for exciting races on the entire track.

The World Cup in Vatra Dornei from January 21st to 23rd, 2022, is the third stage in the 2021/2022 season. To kick off, a double World Cup will take place in Umhausen (AUT) from January 7th to 9th and from January 14th to 16th, 2022.
