Austria and Germany will crown their first Team Relay Champions Berchtesgaden (pps) Between Christmas and New Year there will be national luge championships in no less than three countries. It is already a tradition that Austria’s luge federation (ÖRV) will crown their national luge champions in Igls; on December 30, 2011 they will determine their first champions in the Team Relay. Italy, who usually carries out the national championships in Cesana, will switch to Koenigssee (GER). The events are scheduled to take place on December 29, 2011. The German Bobsleigh and Sled Federation (BSD) will organize its national championships on the track of the upcoming World Championships in Altenberg. Similar to Austria, the Germans will determine their first Team Relay champion. The results of the German national championships will also serve as a basis for the nomination of their team for the 43rd FIL Luge Worlds that will be carried out in Altenberg six weeks later.
