Three luge athletes stand for election to IOC Athletes' Commission

Athens (FIL) The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board approved the candidatures of 17 athletes for the election of the IOC Athletes' Commission (AC) at its meeting in Athens (GRE) on Saturday 16 October. The election will take place during the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

Ten female and seven male athletes from 17 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) are running for the two vacant seats on the Commission - more than ever before at Winter Olympic Games. Among them are Raluca Stramaturaru from Romania, Te-An Lien from Chinese Taipei and Shiva Keshavan from India.

The candidates were nominated by their National Olympic Committees (NOCs) together with their NOC Athletes' Commissions.

Athletes participating in the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games can vote for their representatives in the Olympic Villages from 27 January (the opening day of the villages) to 16 February 2022.
